A huge thank you to Dr. Brownlee and his team. At the age of 51, I train with heavy weights in order to compete with, and often place higher than, competitors much younger than myself. I experienced excruciating low back pain one day that prevented me from bending or sitting for any period of time. At Welcome Back, I was given immediate access to state-of-the-art imaging, and a complete team of specialized healthcare providers who took the time to review my specific complaint.
Dr. Brownlee was able to both diagnose my problem and perform a facet rhyzotomy that day. Within the hour I was completely pain free. I was able to resume my normal activities with zero down time. I consider Welcome Back Pain Management & Upright MRI Centre a “One-Stop-Shop” for anyone experiencing debilitating pain. Their goal is your goal: to get you back to your normal routine as soon as possible.
Well done team!

As a chiropractor, I have found the upright MRI imaging from the Welcome Back Clinic in Kamloops to be an invaluable resource to my practice. Having access to this kind of MRI technology enables the practitioner to see the spine in a loaded state rather than only in recumbency when often the symptoms are absent. Loaded flexion and extension provides a more accurate look at the tissues in their dynamic natural state and very often reveals the pain generator(s).
The additional imaging of neutral recumbent vs. upright is also very helpful when putting together a specific treatment plan. If you’re a patient that has pain while loaded and symptoms tend to abate while recumbent, I would highly consider upright MRI imaging. Often you will see a disc bulge (or herniate) even more as well as reveal many spondylolistheses that are otherwise not seen with regular recumbent imaging.
